Government is concerned with the high rate of girls dropping out of school.
General Education Minister, David Mabumba says as part of mitigating the situation a case management framework has been developed.
Mr. Mabumba says this will help detect early warning behaviours such as absenteeism, risky sexual behaviour and domestic violence.
Speaking during the handover of 16 vehicles under the Keeping Girls in School 65 Million US Dollars Project by the World Bank, Mr. Mabumba said the trend of girls dropping out of school can NOT continue.
He has tasked District Education Board Secretaries to ensure the project is implemented and the Girls retained in schools.
And World Bank Gewel Consultant Abidemi Coker said the project is doing well as it has exceeded the targeted number of girls to empower.
Meanwhile, Samfya District Education Board Secretary Daniel Mutaba said the vehicles will go a long way in implementing the Gewel project as the issue of transport has been a challenge.
